Helpful Laptop Recommendation

I used Best Informant for a new laptop recommendation last month. I found their 'laptop recommendations' guide to be quite thorough, breaking down options by price point and usage. The specific model they highlighted, a mid-range Ultrabook, seemed to fit my needs well. I followed their affiliate link to a retailer, and the purchasing process went smoothly there. The guide itself was well-written and easy to understand, even for someone not super tech-savvy. I appreciated that they focused on practical aspects like battery life and port selection, which are important for my work. Delivery from the retailer was prompt, taking about four days to get to me. Overall, a solid experience getting good info.

My go-to for tech advice!

Oh my goodness, I just love Best Informant! I was looking for a new gaming gear reviews article last week and they had exactly what I needed. The comparison was so detailed and helped me pick the perfect headset. It arrived yesterday and it's even better than I thought it would be. I'm so happy with my purchase thanks to their guide! I will absolutely use them again for future tech buys and tell all my friends!

Solid site, minor nitpick

I checked out their 'smartphone comparisons' when I was due for an upgrade. The information was really comprehensive and helped me weigh the pros and cons of a few different models. I liked how they organized it by key features. The site was easy to navigate and loaded fast, which is a plus. The only tiny thing was that one of the external links to a retailer was for a model that was temporarily out of stock, which was a bit of a bummer after reading the review, but that's not really their fault. The quality of their content, like the 'tech buying guides', is consistently high. Good value getting this free information.

Good info, easy read

Needed some advice on smart home devices. Best Informant had a 'smart home device reviews' section that was pretty easy to get through. Found what I needed without much hassle. Made buying a new smart thermostat a lot simpler, you know? It just felt good to have a clear idea before spending money.

where do they even get all these deals from? like are they just scraping sales or do companies give them special stuff?

A Anna 1 week ago
From what I understand, they have affiliate partnerships. So they get a commission if you buy through their links, which is why they get access to some exclusive offers sometimes.

yeah it's usually affiliate stuff. like, they'll find the best price at amazon or best buy and link you there. sometimes there's a special code you can only get through their site too.

do they ever have their own coupon codes? like, if I sign up for the newsletter do I get a discount for something?

R Ryan Brooks 1 week ago
Nah, Best Informant doesn't sell anything directly so they don't have their own codes. The newsletter usually just tells you about new articles and deals *from other stores* they've found.

i signed up and got alerts for deals on amazon, not a discount from best informant itself if that makes sense.

hey quick q, are the deals on here actually legit or just old stuff they didn't update? wanna grab a new laptop soon.

J Julia Y. 1 month ago
Yeah, I've used their links a few times. They usually link directly to the retailer's current sale. Not like Best Informant *has* the deal themselves, but they'll show you where to get it.

i've found good stuff, especially around prime day. just make sure to double check the dates on the deal sometimes, but mostly they're fresh.

thinking about getting a new smart home hub, is best informant generally better than like, CNET for reviews? looking for something really in-depth.

R Raj 2 weeks ago
I find Best Informant pretty good for deep dives, especially their comparison articles. CNET can be a bit more general sometimes, but both are solid.

Honestly, depends on the product. I usually check both and maybe Tom's Guide too. Best Informant does a good job breaking down pros and cons though.
